Probably I got ripped today. With the tank almost empty (I know I can drive some 600 km, the fuel gage is poor). I just filled the tank to the limit: 46.5 liters (12.28 gallons). My tank is the 95 tank (metallic) in my 96 highline. Which is its capacity? (gallons , liters, whatever you have. TKS

I think Dodge quoted 12.5 gallons, but I've never gotten more than 11. I think the total fuel system volume is like 12.5 gallons, including lines and the canister. So there's some fuel in there you can't get.

Offically the '95/early '96 steel tank is 11.2 and then add for filler tube, etc. I've gotten as much as 11.6 but the gauge had been on the peg for longer than I was comfortable with.

Do you use imperial gallons or US gallons? I believe there is a difference. I've also gotten on close to 12 gallons when the tank was completely empty, the filler neck holds more than I thought it did.

Do you mean on the empty peg, or the full peg?

Mine likes to hang on the full peg for about 50-75 miles. Never gotten close to ever seeing a low fuel light ever..

I don't like to replace my fuel pump.

I fill up at 1/4 tank or 1/3 tank.

The low fuel light is supposed to come on when there is two gallons left which usually meant 60-70 miles left on my Neon, but after a few years, the fuel light started acting up, just like the fuel gauge.
