I'm visiting my sister right now in Fort Mill (just south of Charlotte). I'll be moving here in about a month. I've been here 2 days so far and I only saw one 1st gen and one 2nd gen neon.

currently im in the process of building a new engine for my neon...(it threw a rod) but the club can still go on so just leave me your contact info and ill be sure to get back to you. oh yea and someone post possible names for the club

if there is enough interest we can start ASAP!!!

you guys need to come down to Rockingham dragway on Sat. nights a few of use are usually hanging out there. They are having late night street drags all month plus next weekend they are having a pretty big event called Speedfed Nationals. Check out their website. There are about 4 or 5 of use in this area Charlotte, Monroe, Marshville that race our Neons. Not sure if we will make this event $$$$. But may be at the Rock this Sat. night.

I'm in Fort Mill, SC now. 15 min south of Charlotte. I haven't really seen too many neons driving around yet. Hopefully I'll have my car running and be able to bring it down next week

That's awesome, since I'm moving down there I would love to help you out. I am planning on doing the same later with my neon. Oh and for a name , i know its kinda basic but, NCN (North Carolina Neons).

well my plan just changed...i found a 2.0 sohc for $75 all i gotta do is replace the headgasket and a little head work....i think im gonna swap in my 95 cam shaft and go with a few bolt ons, a mild port job and up the compression, no a/c or power steering, header and 2.5" exhaust...i think that will get the job done

that sounds tight. I wanna go dohc, and do a 5spd swap at the same time. Oh and if you get those parts from that guy in Raleigh for free, get all off the parts he is giving away. I will take the 2dr skirts and the other rear lip

he got rid of them before i could get to him.....as for my new motor...i want to see if i can do a mild p&p job on the head and gasket match the intake mani....seing that i have an alum. intake mani on my sohc.....does anyone know where i can find a magnum cam and springs for cheap....i have a 95 cam...that ill use if i have to but I WANT A MAGNUM....oh and while im waiting on my motor im taking on the project of flipping my trunk on this one too....SUPER EASY MOD and cheap too..and it looks great....my dremmel is putting in overtime LOL
