When reinstalling the engine of my 2002 Neon, a connector broke off of the rear of the head. This connector is bolted to the rear of the head on the drivers side.

The wire that goes to the connector has a single green wire (with what appears to be a red stripe). THis wire splits out of the wiring harness by itself.

here is a picture when the engine was first removed

For the life of me I can't figure out what it is so that I can order a new one!

I've been scouring my manuals and the only clue i got was a brief mention of a capacitor, but nothing else.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

M

Its called a noise supressor and it gets one DG/OR wire going to it. This is tied in with the 4 injectors and the ignition coil.

I did want to post the rest of the answer to this in case someone else needed it.

Floyd is correct, here is the rest of the info that I got from Dawm @ detroit neon owners.

Quote:
its a noise isolator sometimes called a capacitor. its like $10-17 at the dealer (pn# 4793117). And its green w/ orange tracer not red =p its the ASD output, i guess it helps remove noise from the power to the coil pack.
