plenty of posts on that. Everything matches up, completely a bolt on procedure.

You Will NEED:

-A Clutch
-Clutch Cable
-Clutch Pedal
-Flywheel
-Shifter Linkage
-Shifter
-Manual CV Axles
-A Manual Transmission-There are three two 3.94's and one 3.55 gear ratio.

You'll also need to either manipulate the neutral safety switch and torque converter
solenoid or buy a 5-speed computer

Very Fun and Good Beginner neon project. I'm sure you'll hear everyone's input on this.

Any neon transmission will work, they all bolt up directly, even the srt-4 trans

There are some difference in the transmissions used in neons. The method used to engage the clutch changed after 2000. All neons from 1994-2000 used a clutch cable; and all later models used a hydraulic clutch engagement system. The two methods also result with the shift fork in two locations, as there are two different bell housings used. There are some differences with the gears, but that would not prevent the transmission from being used on your car.
