I have checked up on the archive about the "big" rear wheel pattern, but no one ever answered back to me.... or to anyone... period...

I was just curious if anyone tried just swapping the axle stubs from an intrepid or even c-van, to get the rear wheels at the bigger spacing. I scrapped my intrepid like 4 years ago, and had I given it much thought I would have taken the back end apart to check.. I didn't.. but you guys all seem to have a lot of access to junk yards and piles of parts; can anyone check to see if the 4 bolts that hold the rear axle to the hub are the same spacing between any of the bigger sized LH models or vans...

only reason I ask is cause I had an old shadow that I used a rear stub from an Omni or rampage or some kind of off the wall thing that you wouldn't think would fit and it did... now granted the hubs were the same and the bearings all fit just like stock, but why not check??? if I could afford to just buy the parts I might do that but im poor as **** so I cant really afford it but if I had a pile of parts or a junk yard to crawl around in ide just do it myself.

not to mention being able to mod the neon just a little more has to tickle some ones fancy..

There may be a reason for that.

Are you talking about swaping the rear hubs from a Stratus / van / something else onto the Neon knuckle??

I could have swore people just redrill the 114.5x5 bolt pattern into stockers.

I seen people mentioning re-drilling hubs. and though im sure if done right its a viable option, I just was wondering about other options is all... and a lot of different people seem really interested and talked as if they were adventurous enough to check. I might just go check out the junk hard with some parts off my car and see if i can find/learn anything.

AFAIK, there is no "press-in solution for a 5x114 rear hub to a Neon. You MAY be able to get an appropriate sized bearing to adapt.

In all actuality, it would be easiest to re-drill a rear hub and call it a day.

The rear spindle "stub" is not bolted on for a Neon. It's cast into the knuckle. The Intrepid knuckle is WAY different, the strut runs THROUGH it, not bolted onto it.

The only option is a spacer that goes from the Neon stub to the Intrepid hub.

If the OP is seriously interested in swapping them, PM me or email me neverdeadracingATgmail.com
