So I found a 95 nyg on craigslist listed for $700 around the july 4th weekend, drove over an hr to check it out and bought it for $650 and trailered it home the next day. Loaded with mopar goodies.

Loading it up on the dolly I see why I couldnt test drive it, ( I thought it was a broken clutch or something)

Here she is the day I got her and home.

I put her in storage for over a month while I finished up some smaller projects here at the house.
Heres some of the goodies that were on the car.
Iceman and Tray

Mopar Trailer hitch and Mopar Muffler

I believe a mopar header

Mopar ECU

this thing has horrible clear coat peel so I plan on painting it in a year or so

I ran the vin at a local dealer and it comes up as an ACR...see...run the vin for your self.

I havent decided if I want to swap in my 2.4 or just keep the 2.0 in it for a while adn just restore it. I mean, there was only 63 plymouth nyg acr coupes built. So I dont know yet.
I am going to take care of this rust
Image

It does have a new power steering line, AC compressor and Alternator. The guy said the top end was rebuilt 55k aho when the water pump lockedup.

I thought someone had f'd up my clear coat on my NYG. Glad to see yours is in the same shape lol.

Good luck man. I love NYG's. My sedan is 1 of 22, but I plan on 2.4 with huge cams next year anyway.

Thanks. Right now I'm waiting on my dad to weld the diff. Pin in for me. Once the new trans and rear main is in it'll be time to clean that engine bay, install my mopar rear sway bar, high rates and 7 spokes.

I'm keeping the mopar one but I do have another brand hitch in the garage. It needs a ball.

Yup, runs great. Even drove it about 4 miles with the hole in the trans.

It has the Mopar/Borla piping as well. Very expensive exhaust.

Nice find!!

I would do what you want with it... but save the original engine in the corner of the garage, and try and score a '95 3.94/.81 trans to stow away with it... that way, if it is ever worth something, you can put it back to original. For now tho, you can have as much fun as you want... going 2.4 isn't an irreversable mod (like cutting up the body, or welding in a cage is... that I wouldn't do).

Well today I put in my welded diff. Put new axle seals in and sealed the trans. I put in a new trans mount insert and rear main seal in as well. For now I'm using a 3.94 with the .72 5th. Hopefully tomorrow ill get the transmission installed

Well today I put the new trans in it. After I got all this done I swapped in a new radiator I had laying around, put in a 180 thermostat and did a full coolant flush. Went ahead and did the plugs and wires too. All in all I put about 5 hrs into it today and drove it about 20 miles today. Runs great, could use new rear brakes soon and a clutch cable.

The looks on peoples faces when I drove into a gas station today were priceless too.

Next on my to-do list is the water pump, timing belt and valve cover gasket. Ill probably put PT lifters and 2.7 rockers in it since I have them laying around anyways.

Nice find, that's actually not bad rust for a 15 year old car in what I assume to be a NE state.
