Good pics. Definately going to be a cool project log to follow if you keep it up! Let us know what you get for a weight, when you do.

Okay first, you guys suck! Darrell is wearing shorts! It's to damn cold for that up here! 2nd does your car have to be red to pull into the DCR bays? And lastly looks great! Good luck with everything. Looks like progress is going to be quick!

It looks well documented so far! I'm excited to where it goes and probably learn a few things.

I agree that rule wise a funny car cage is not needed. But man are they cool! And the protection level is a whole lot better. Plus if he decides he wants to put some wheelie bars on the car and run a hot rod set up the chassis is in place and he is set. Plus just sitting in a car with a funny car cage around the driver gets you ready to run. Really makes you feel like a race car driver.

The average 8.50 drag car runs about 160MPH will will run about 170+ think about that 170 MPH thats a 7.99 in a rwd car so its about safety. Plus do you realy want to rebuild the car when it runs 8.49 thats like putting a bar in a car that runs 10.30 you know it will need a cage soon

nobody can argue that too much safety is a bad thing. you can't realistically expect to drop 1.3 seconds.
how many cars have run 8's in SFWD? 1 or 2? i know Tony's car did using Outlaw SFWD rules
either way, build looks awesome. hopefully next season will have a full schedule of races.

Looks like too much work. I took out all mine in 45 minutes (an hour if you count the waiting) using dry ice that I spent like 5 bucks on.
Put it all over and it freezes the sound deadening crap, and you can just hit the floor with a hammer and it all flakes off.

It worked, but was a pain. Smelled horrible too. This time I'm going to try the dry ice trick. I've heard of great results with it.
