i forgot what the guys name was, but he was running a 4g63 without any stroking or anything, 5.1 BARS of boost, 11k rpms, making 1400 hp and in the 6's, given it was a back halved 99 GSX, but still, i know you guys have the power making capabilities, why dont you take this record back from them ... w/ FWD :ireful:

the person ur thinking of is brent rau sir, and it is a pro outlaw rwd car. the ecotecs are leading the way with fwd at low 7's (i dont think any have run 6's yet) so if ur talking about making an srt powered fwd go that fast then hes got some work to do.

1. The Brent Rau eclipse is more than back halved its actually 3/4 chassis. From what they say but that's not even really true the car is more like 4/5 chassis at first they had banned the car and had them rework the chassis. Similar to what happened to the Lingenfelter/Crawford Cavaliers because the strut tower were placed ahead of the factory location.

2. I remember seeing the DCR Hot Rod drag SRT in person and the true down fall was the tranny I think if they had the X-trac tranny with the power the SRT was making it would have been a different story I remember Ron Lummus making fun of Darrell in the pits at Moroso in West Palm telling Darrell when is he going to get ready of that p.o.s tranny and go with the X-trac. Darrell asked how much was that tranny and I believe Lummus said 15,000 plus you had to buy a ton of other parts, Remember the Colbalts that went the fastest in the Hot Rod class were the X-trac colbalts and the Auto weren't as fast.

3. Shaun Carlson SRT Pro-fwd car powered by a DCR motor went Mid 7's and that was way before Darrell could make the power he was making towards the end of him owning the DCR Hot Rod SRT.

I remember when Brent ran his car at the local street races back in the day.. that was before it became the monster it is.

On a side note, I beat Brent Rau on a holeshot at the Battle of the Imports in Chicago '00, when his car was still awd.

There really isn't an 4/5 chassis but his car was more that 3/4 or 75% because the firewall and the strut tower were modified and that is against the Outlaw class.

I just bought a DCR scattershield, and it didn't give me any clues why they don't want to try and break the NHRA SC record for RWD modified, with a FWD Hot Rod car.

a Neon will never run 7's again. the support just isnt there anymore.

(excluding retired Pro Stock cars and RWD Neons with a huge V8)

You are incorrect DCR did the engine and MAGNUS rebuilt
MAGNUS now does the engines but they are based off what DCR did
Ask Brent Rau he will tell you

DCR definitely was building Brent's engines originally. I remember when he switched to them because it made waves in the sport compact community.
