Picked up the 1995 NYG coupe today from Per of Grassroots Magazine. I paid $425 + a DOHC longblock, udp, mopar ecu & longtube header. I'm very happy with the car, everything is pretty much perfect on it and even has the rare leather seats. The only downside I can see is that it's an ATX (I don't plan on swapping it soon). That could be a good thing though, atleast that'll make me keep it a daily driver while I'm building my R/T.

The only real plans I have for it are:

Tint the windows.
Mopar high rate springs or Neon Goodies springs.
Diamond clear headlights.
Euro front signal lights.
Install black r/t rims with a polished lip.
Eventually get black Rota slips with polished lip.
MPX shorty antenna.

Here's the info about it from Grassroots Magazine: http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/projec ... h-neon/hi/

This car already has more attention & fans than my turbo R/T :?

Oh well, I'll have a kind of rare car that you can't miss while it's around town and a *a#S!d^f* looking fast car that you'll only see at the track.

I love both of them, you just can't get me away from these Neons. This NYG is number 14 for me.

dang, i've only had 3.
never wrecked one though. 95 sport sedan, ran good till the day i sold it.
moded it up with magnum goodies, and striped it down to mostly stock when sold.

96 base sedan, auto, was a daily for a bit. it was stock i left it that way.

now the current 98 sport coupe modded all to hell.

Never wrecked any of mine yet ::knocks on wood::. Just do alot of trading, selling & whatnot. Loved every single of one mine. My favorites were my first one (1997 base 4dr), my current '98 R/T and this NYG.

I've already caught hell from my fellow car buddies around town for the color, oh well I love it. It's pretty awesome so see the cars reflection on the side of another car's paint on the highway. I like the car, I like the color, it's different and it runs good and it was a steal! No complaints from me. I'm never going to justify this car to my girlfriend or friends. The whole "it's a rare color with rare leather seats" just doesn't fly with them.

My buddy with a very nice 50trim SRT-4 was excited about the car though, he drove over right away to come checkout the car. I'm sure I'll run into a few of the other local Neon guys and they'll be into it aswell.

Like I said, it's all about me & my preference.

i like my current one the most outta the 3.

its also the one which has blown up the most lol. tranny one time, (diff pin) 2 timing belt failures, one unknown cause, second one water pump failure, it was new to, well was rein, last time i will ever buy one of those!

first time the timing belt went, i got to hear all my valve so kinky clank, i was driving down the road about 55mph. I didn't ever find a reason why it broke the timing belt, but 3 days before i happened i missed a shift, was suposed to go to 3rd to 4th, went to 2nd for a second instead, ya for 13k rpms..... maybe higher lol, and the aem timing gear slipped all the way to -20, put back, drove home, no big deal. Figured that was the end of it, guess not..... I cried cause it made my BDMS race port head junk all decked out with os valves, and coatings.

good luck with ur car. Mine have been good to me minus a few problems here and there. I'd like to get another one a coupe to make my daily driver, since my jeep eats the gas.

Just got done transfering insurance, title & tag to the car. Was on my way to work & the check engine light popped on.

Codes:
12) Direct battery input to PCM was disconnected within the last 50 key-on cycles.
32) EGR system failure.

Nothing that I'm worried about. I picked up some leather conditioner today also. Gonna go ahead & clean-up the inside real good, install the new headlights and maybe wash/wax it when I get home.

I had an nyg once. I live in a small town. I sold it after a month, and only drove it two weeks of that month. Too much attention for my preference. Everyone stared at me when I drove by. Now I have a black ACR which blends in rather nicely.

I'd probably trade you for the R/T.... Not really feeling having an automatic.

The R/T's motor is pretty much done.

Not mine. :)

Nice find Nick.......welcome to the NYG club. We're very exclusive members.

Now if I could only get mine running and inspected.

You won't believe the one I just saw over the weekend and who it belongs to. I'll try to get some pics up in the Pits Section later in the week.

I know what the car is worth to some people, plus if I have to sell it I do have to buy a new car. Just because I get an awesome deal doesn't mean I can afford to pass it along. I just posted it to "test the waters" on it. I still plan on keeping it until I get the offer or trade I want.

Still a great car, I'm taking good care of it and drive it everyday.

Didn't they paint the hood & front fascia with spray cans? Is that pretty much perfect? The pics show a pretty poor color match...

Definately aren't done with spray cans from the looks of it. In person it looks awesome!

The hood and bumper were painted with a disposable airbrush, not a rattle can. They look decent.

I'd definately trade my NYG for a 2gn, I just want a nice daily driver. Not to mention a car that's 2000+ would be nice.

I'd definately trade my NYG for a 2gn, I just want a nice daily driver. Not to mention a car that's 2000+ would be nice.

THANK YOU! Finally someone that owns a NYG that isnt stuck up!
Its like everyone should bow down because you have a booger colored Neon... Never made sense to me.

The color isn't anything special to me, I know it's rare & all but honestly I'd prefer another red coupe or an intense blue one. I think it's just like every other color, just fewer were made... I can make it look clean & well down just like I could do with any other color Neon out there pretty much.

Uhhh... Who is stuck up because they own a NYG? I have yet to see such a case.
