Re: 2.4 swap fuel question.

4 years actually. I've been busy paying for the Challenger... I don't like debt, so I paid $800 a month on it for the last 2 years so I'd pay it off in 4 instead of 7. So not really any money to spend on Neons. And of course it had to have a shifter, wheels and tires, stereo, etc... I got in the Fac...

Re: 2.4 swap fuel question.

Years ago I caught much grief for saying my modded 2.4 needed 24# Ford injectors and the 58psi regulator to keep my fuel trims low. Good to see thinking has changed some.

Remember, the regulator is also the filter... used, the filter could be plugged up.

It was about maintaining valve timing control, without the possible ills of a solid tensioner... less slop (than stock), more belt friendly (than a static tensioner).

It's a superior spring design... you can have higher pressures with a shorter coil bind height than you can with a conventional coil spring.

And yet 4792490AA is still about $40 new...

The SRT, the Stratus, and the PT are all the same casting... just different bungs tapped and different configurations... any one of the 3 can be made to work in place of the other, with a little work.

Re: Valve Differences?

If it did happen to be a newer head, 2002 up I think, the earlier exhaust valves would be a touch too big for the seats. The seats could probably be ground to make the larger valves work, so either way, as long as the keepers and such are compatible, you should be good. 2001 M/Y is when the head ch...

How about when I make my better thincker piece I just make two and charge what it cost me to make it? My standards are a bit higher, so 3/16" 1040 or 1045 laser cut to "jig" themselves together for ease of welding followed by a good powdercoat. Sound good? You can add an external regulator even if you want. All you need for the field connections is an ignition switched hot (ASD wire stock), and a ground that is switched on and off to control the charging for proper battery voltage. The 1st things to check, in order, would be the fuseable link, the ASD...

Re: srt wheel speed sensor on 1g for tcs

Any sensor should work... as Jim said, it's the tooth count on the tone ring on the axle that matters. At worst you'd need SRT rear brakes and SRT axles. Honestly I don't think that even matters that much, as long as you don't mix up the combos. I'm pretty sure as long as they're all equal count, it...

Aftermarket pistons don't have pin offset like stockers. If the valve reliefs are identical, then the pistons are symmetrical and it wouldn't matter how they were hung.

If you plugged one port off you would have vacc on the crankcase but no way for it to breather or get freash air in. You want to "evacuate" blowby from the case to keep your oil clean and not building positive pressure. You dont need much vacc to evacuate the crank case but you do need fresh are co...

that would make sense if the pressure were monitored at the pump, before the filter, but it's not. Since it is measured after the filter, with no change in restriction elsewhere in the block/head/crank/bearings/etc, it implies less volume out of the filter, more restriction thru the filter... not le...

Buy the cheapest Harbor Freight stand, and flip a fully assembled motor over... you'll see flex. But, yeah, nice beefy arms on that stand... a little overkill for a 4 cylinder, but I do believe in buying good stuff and only buying once (even if I don't ALWAYS do it).

The only differences between the 97-99 and the 96 PCMs are 1) the fan control was based on a mechanical relay like the 95 (the only similarity to the 95) and 2) the ...

If you used a 1/4-20, DO NOT TAP... just run it in, it will self tap and fit nice and tight. Only tap if you use a 5/16-18, and then use loc-tite on it... me personally, I'd rather not have shavings and a looser fit to contend with... running in a 1/4-20 always worked well for me.
