Utah Neon owners: Wide Open Wednesdays at Miller Motorsports

Did a search, didn't see any topics on this.... The second Wednesday of every month of the racing seaon Miller Motorsports Park does something the call "Wide Open Wednesdays". Basically for a small fee ($25+ depending on what you want to do) you get to run as many laps around the east track, the aut...

Re: AZENIS RT-615K's - the new tire from Falken

I tried to buy a set of the 615s last week (15") looks like they are completely gone in my region of the world.

Bridgestone is offering a $100 rebate on a set of Potenza RE-11s this month so that is looking like a good option for autocross tires right now.

Re: Kyle mod (rod ends) for 2g cables?

Sorry folks, I haven't paid much attention to the boards lately. There are plenty of other people who have done this with 2g cars, including SRTs. YMMV on the size of the pins in relation to the size of the rod ends. Lots of people have had to do the sandpaper mod as you did, and lots of people have...

If and when I put the stock hood back on the cowl hood will be for sale. Since I have no idea when that will be I'm not going to promise it to anyone. The tires on the car are Falken Azenis RT215s, it is an old autocross tire. Falken doesn't make that particular tire any more, it has been replaced b...

Interesting thread. I'll echo what dhamir says about the structural integrity of the cowl hoods, and add that it also applies to the hinged version. The only difference between the hinged version and the pin-on skin is that the hinged version has a molded in boss and locations for the hinges. It is ...

Re: Where to buy replacement carpet?

I just replaced my carpet. The carpet I got was made by ACC (Auto Custom Carpet) It did include the "mass back" option, which did decrease the noise level a bit in the cabin. I got the carpet from rockauto.com, it was cheaper than going directly through ACC. Replacing the carpet was a big job, and d...

I've had 8" Kicker free air subs in my front doors for 5 years or so. Before that I had some 8" MTX subs that I ran as mid-bass in conjunction with a 10" sub in the trunk. Sound quality? Its a free air sub in the door of a '97 Neon, coupled with the 5 million rattles, intake noise, and road noise (I...

Rear disk parking brake shoes-- the same as rear drum shoes?

I'm in the process of converting the rear drums to disks. The conversion parts I bought don't have the parking brake shoes. I've looked a bit online, and so far no-one lists the parking brake shoes, which leads me to wonder if the parking brake shoes on rear disks are the same as the brake shoes in ...

Check and make sure your pushlock hose can make the "S" bend from the left pump to the bulkhead in the space that you have, that stuff is stiff as hell. It will be easy enough to add a pair of 90 degree fittings if it doesn't work.

C&R radiator / Spal fan install

I installed a C&R radiator and Spal fan over the weekend. Whoever decided it won't fit with an air conditioning condensor didn't try hard enough! It fits fine, and the manifold/TB/intake I have on my car has less space up front than the stock configuration does. http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_...

With a little creativity and a trip to a bike shop you can make a throttle cable any length you want to. Mine started out as the extra long version, and is shortened to fit my box intake without looping around the engine bay.
