The ski jump version has been said to handle more timing, yup. I think compression is the same though. Those things are way down in the hole.

Re: 2.4 Pistons and SOHC Compression

I didn't save any of the 2.4 SOHC pictures, they're all gone. 2.4 has longer stroke so compression increase will be more than the ".5" when swapping pistons using same to same stroke of a 2.0. I didn't do the math, didn't care. Mine pinged with 89 octane and Crane 14. Still pinged on some hot days w...

There are a couple of kinds of material for the gaskets, some kind of elastomer, probably a Santoprene or similar and polyurethane. The polyurethane are much better, will not dry rot like the originals or aftermarket elastomer versions. See what Modern has, I don't remember for sure.

Eagle rods and Wiseco pistons here. Definitely not stock bottom end in the old 2.4 that was in the 4-door.

Crane 16s will peak before 7000 for sure. Yeah, you need a wideband O2.

Dyno to find out at what RPM peak power is made. Anything else is just a guess. There is no definite answer otherwise, too many factors at play in any given combination of parts. Crane 22s often make peak power in a 2.4 in the 6600-7200 range. That's a single example and results vary. People do grou...

Not when it's regulated by the stock regulator in the PCM it doesn't.
You'll need a separate adjustable regulator to wire in. They exist.

This crap cracks me up. The regulator in the PCM isn't set to nor intended to charge at 14.2 volts. 10,000 extra grounds won't make it charge at 14.2 volts.

No clips or locks used or needed. This is a really old picture but it shows the "lip" that is molded into each bushing. This lip "mates" with the groove cut in the steel pin where the bushing fits and helps prevent it from coming off by itself.

It is longer. Long enough to be lower than the k-frame. The original Neon filter was the same size as a Fram PH16, pick whatever brand you want that crosses to that. Same length as the stubby PH3614 but bigger diameter. The Cruiser / SRT-4 PH3600 filter is longer but the same diameter as the 3614. J...

180-190 is a little high with that cam. 140-150 might be a little on the low end but a 10psi difference isn't anything to go crazy over.

Longer duration than stock of that cam bleeds off cranking pressure.

Yes, this gear ratio could be found in PT Cruisers exported to certain parts of the world outside of the US. You need BOTH the ring gear AND output shaft. You MUST use both of those together and not mix in one or the other from a different ratio trans. There is no pinion gear on the output shaft to ...

The small bolt pattern A-body stuff will work, it's just not an exact match for 5 x 100mm. You're on your own for backspacing and which ones to look at. No stock ones will have the right amount, you'll be looking for aftermarket.

The small bolt pattern you need is 5 x 4". The Neon's 5 x 100mm is equivalent to a 5 x 3.94".

The ones under the hood are done from the top. Easier done with the battery and tray removed. The ones inside the car are done with the console removed. These can be a pain because the seats are in the way a little. Nothing needs to be done from under the car.

Lift the cable end off of the steel pin on the lever. Remove whatever is left of the old bushing. Push the new bushing into the hole in the end of the cable. Squeeze the new bushing all the way down onto the steel pin. Done.

The rears don't have brackets, sliders or even anything to mount them with. They clip into holes in the floor of the PT. You'd have to make brackets and figure out where to attach them to the seats. Won't be an easy deal.

There's a ton of room in a PT with the back seats removed.
