At a Wendy's just East of Akron, OH. A big high five to Jimbo for recommending RT 127 south...a real relaxing drive on good road and almost no traffic. Plus I could drive 65 MPH without worrying about someone on my bumper. A good 4 to 5 more hours of driving which should get me home around 10.......

My True Story:
My older sister/husband sent me a selfie of them taking a test ride in a newer Corvette. They posted, "Going for a joy ride in our "dream car"
I immediately posted back......" Why dream small, I can put you in the driver's seat of a neon for a fraction of the price".......

Re: Home
I arrived home safe, no problem other than driving 5 hours in rain.
It sure was a great meet, best car show in years. Great to see such a great turnout, it seemed like everyone was glad they attended.
I'm tired, good night.

Re: Home
I finally arrived in IL. about 8pm (after making a side excursion into WI. first - To drop off the shifters I brought with me, back to 'Maddog'.)
I thoroughly enjoyed this years event - In spite of my lousy sinus infection.

No rain for me......sunshine the whole time.......alpinegreenneon wrote: ↑Sun Jun 23, 2019 8:05 pm I arrived home safe, no problem other than driving 5 hours in rain.

I finally got home at 10:30 EST.
I was pleasantly surprised at how refreshed I felt. After getting to bed around 2:00 the two previous nights and getting up between 7-8:00 each morning, I thought I would be exhausted....especially after sitting in the car for nearly 13 hours. I stopped 2 times to grab a bit to eat and just took my time eating. I probably spent a half hour at each stop. Also the route Jimbo told me to take was nice because I could actually look at houses, cars, and nature rather than cars/trailer trucks zipping by me at between 75 to 90 MPH........the same thing for Rt 20 the whole way across the state of Ohio. I ended up spending very little time on Interstates........

Re: Home
I made it back at about 5:30 or so. Jimmy and I parted ways in Chicago after a Fireworks stop. Met Cheyenne and Gina at the I-80 Truck stop in IA for Gas. They were headed further north than I was... I was able to still average 41mpg for the total trip. 1807 miles.

Re: Home
We made it home at about 8 last night, enduring the rain as we made our way down I90. My truck averaged about 13 mpg on the way home. Just have to unload the car when I get off work today. Left everything hooked up and drove the turbo Stratus to work.
