There are some of us left around here. We used to have huge Neon clubs, then SRT-4 clubs, then.. I dunno, everything just kinda fell apart.

The death of photobucket shut down and hurt so many good forums. By the time photobucket had fixed it's mistake it was too late. Everyone had evacuated to Facebook. Forums, that used to have 1000 of visitors a day suddenly dropped to non existent levels. With no one dropping in, clubs fell apart as the easiest way to set a meet up and stay connected with PM's was here.

It's organized, searchable, and contains vast amounts of knowledge, whereas facebook pages are usually the same recycled crap over and over and over.

Exactly why I hate FB.

I miss looking forward to upcoming meets- the planning, mapping a route, getting to see old friends and making new ones.

It's great to see you posting again David. Hopefully we'll both make it to Carlisle again next year and make it a point to spend more time talking. I wish I would've hung out a little longer on Sunday this year to see you before we left, especially since the guy selling the neon said the car was already sold. (Later found out the deal fell through and the seller reposted it again...... :bash: )
My True Story:
My older sister/husband sent me a selfie of them taking a test ride in a newer Corvette. They posted, "Going for a joy ride in our "dream car"
I immediately posted back......" Why dream small, I can put you in the driver's seat of a neon for a fraction of the price".......

U-Pulls are like a box of Chocolates.......you never know what you're going to find...... ;)

I think it was a combination of several things. I know a lot of people say FB was the big reason, but I honestly think it was the phone. It became a mini computer and you could take it anywhere with the capability to connect to the internet. I remember sitting out in the motel parking lots at some of the early N2Ks with laptops trying to get service and upload events/pics of the day. Of course you had to upload pics to a host (usually photobucket) which took a lot of time. With the development of the smartphone, you could now take/post pics, instantly contact people by way of message/voice, and surf the web. FB came along and provided the host for all of these things and needless to say very easily/quickly. I can now take a pic/post a message within 5 seconds. I'm guessing a lot of young people don't even own computers any more. They do everything with their phones. I know my three daughters all have computers, but they only use them for work purposes. A lot of people my age never really embraced the computer and only used the cell phones for traditional telephone calls. As a result, many of them were left behind.

Thank you! I figured that we would do our usual thing on Sunday as I didn't know that you were going to be on the road to possibly buying another Neon. I'm not sure if I'm going to stick around on Sunday next year since the event seems to have retreated into two days instead of three like it used to be.
