Hello all. Is there any reason why (why not) one of the three bolts holding the top rear strut mount would be tightened differently? Two of the bolts show about 1/2 inch of exposed threads, while for the other one, you can only see the nut-for some reason, unable to tighten the same?
Thank you.
Rear Strut Mount Bolts
Re: Rear Strut Mount Bolts
If the strut mount was installed in the wrong direction, it would make it very difficult for the 3 blots to snug the mount all the way up.
The strut mount has a bit of an angle to it relative to the centerline of the strut itself. it needs to be oriented the right way for the mount to sit flush with the mounting surface. My guess is you've rotated the mount 1/3 of a turn one way or the other from where it should be.
Did you replace the mount/strut?

Re: Rear Strut Mount Bolts
My guess is that the strut mount is not properly 'seated' up against the body all the way.
