Has anyone tried...A 1st gen Rear Sway bar, on a 2nd gen??

Hey, Folks,
This may be a stooopid question...
Has anyone here ever tried running a 1st gen Rear Sway Bar, on a 2nd Gen ???


The reason I am asking this is:
I have an 'extra' 1st gen Mopar Rear Adjustable sway bar, laying around in my garage, that I found in a junkyard, cheap.
So why not put it to good use ???

I know that folks here have successfully installed the 2nd Gen Rear Sway Bar, on 1st gen Neons:

However - I am not aware of anyone who has done the opposite, trying to install a 1st gen rear bar, on a 2nd gen.


I already have all the necessary 1st gen hardware (rear sway bar tabs + Rear sway bar end links), to possibly make this work.
Please share your thoughts, ideas, and 'technical photos', if you have any.....

If you have all the needed hardware, I don't see why it would be much different that bolting it to a 1gn. No different than adapting to the '03 up 2gn's that didn't come with the tabs on the rear struts. The only thing that might be different is the actual tab position, but since it is adjustable....

Now if it was just a stock 1gn rear sway, then it probably wouldn't be any better than the base 2gn sway.

And we probably wouldn't be having this conversation.

IIRc the width is about same, just need custom / different endlinks.

He has the bolt on tabs, so the endlinks should work.

The only thing that might have to go is the welded on tabs if the struts already have tabs.

1G strut brackets fit.. not sure if OE still available but I do stock heavy duty version.
