they did note that there is a $5 charge for more than 2 guest in a room. I know the rooms are higher than some earlier years, but Grand Rapids is a busy city and these rooms were pretty much the only place we could find rooms in the area we wanted to be, everything was booked in the area.

They did note they will match these prices if you deiced to come early or stay later.

I called for my reservation and the person I spoke with said that if I wanted to come early or stay longer, I would have to pay regular price. I want to stay Saturday night and leave Sunday morning and she wants to charge more than the agreed price for that extra night. Can you check into this??

Ok so originally we wanted to try a few hotels in the area. They all ended up being super expensive or completely booked up. Grand Rapids seemed to be tourist heavy at the time of n2k. So we found the quality inn in the perfect location at a better rate than all the others. I never actually went there, just figured this was our best shot and we give it a go and make the best out of it like we always do. So yesterday on our road trip we decided to swing by. At first glance we were super nervous. It looked pretty rough. Like it might smell... so we go in... to a freshly remodeled office. I caught the sales guy, who I've been playing phone tag with, as he was leaving. He was super nice and very helpful. He gave us a tour and some details. And I can say without a doubt this hotel is perfect!!! The rooms are being updated and should be done by n2k. The breakfast area was recently redone and looked very sufficient. The pool area was very nice and has all new furniture.

And best of all... we will have our own parking lot 30ft from the building all to ourselves that wont bother anyone. They said we are free to do our thing as we always do. There is also a patio in front of the building we are free to use. He even offered to open the pool an extra 2.5 hours just for us.

Overall I'm super happy with the hotel. There were a few people worried about them matching room rates if you came early or stayed late and he assured me rates will be matched even if the staff said other wise. So see you all there neonites!

Thanks Tom. We spent the whole day yesterday riding around figuring things out. It was the first day above 65 lol. I haven't heard from jimbo but this is how last year went. I met up with him for dinner last year to get an input before the show. I want to do that in the coming weeks

Just swung by the hotel. There are 4 double rooms available the weekend of n2k. And if you have a room and didnt get a confirmation, that is ok because they dont generally send them out. Also if you are in a double bed room and have no room mate, post up. Seems like alot of people are. Maybe some people can consolidate and save money if they wanted... see you guys very soon!!

I did make an effort to try to come this year, but it's just not going to work out. There's too many other plans, and the strut bearings on the car would drive me absolutely crazy if I drove 50-60 hours on them creaking the whole way. I've got my big Twitch stream happening on the 22nd as well, and my doctor has me coming in to see him every few days because of my meds going wonky. I am going to come down to the US this year at some point, but it won't be this month.

I think the 20th year running would be a suitable year to finally break the streak.
